ジョグジャカルタの観光スポットは3方向に広がっており、有名な場所のどれもホテル街に隣接していません。そのため、滞在先は観光地への近さよりも、くつろぎの時間の雰囲気や毎朝の出発のしやすさで選ぶのが賢明です。市内のほぼどこからでも、配車アプリで短時間でどこへでも移動できるため、自分の好みで選べます。賑やかな中心部に飛び込みたいか、寺院や火山を巡る長い1日の終わりに静かな場所で過ごしたいか。以下のエリアは、賑やかな中心部から涼しい北部の丘陵地帯まで、現実的な選択肢を網羅し、それぞれに合う旅行者を紹介します。
マリオボロ通りとトゥグ駅周辺——喧騒のど真ん中
マリオボロ通り沿い、またはそのすぐ裏手に滞在すれば、市内で最も賑やかで便利な場所に身を置くことになります。ショッピングストリートまで徒歩数分、クラトン（王宮）やタマン・サリへも徒歩圏内。そして何より、中央のトゥグ駅がすぐそばにあるため、鉄道での到着・出発はストレスフリー、空港への移動も簡単です。マリオボロ通りの裏手、ソスロウィジャヤン地区などには、昔からゲストハウスや小規模ホテルが価格帯を問わず密集しています。その代わり、騒音と喧騒は避けられません。ここは活気あふれる賑やかな中心部であり、静かに過ごす場所ではありません。徒歩での移動のしやすさと交通の便を静けさより優先する方、到着初日の夜にアンクリンガンの屋台やストリートの活気を楽しみたい方に最適です。
プラウィロタマン——旅行者の街
A little south of the Kraton, Prawirotaman is the city's long-established quarter for independent travellers, and it has aged into something more polished than backpacker. Its two main streets are lined with cafes, boutique guesthouses, spas, batik shops and the small operators who arrange drivers and day tours, which makes it an easy place to organise the rest of your trip over breakfast. It's calmer than Malioboro but still walkable and sociable, with a good density of places to eat within a few minutes of wherever you land. Choose it if you want a relaxed, café-heavy base with tour logistics on your doorstep, and you don't mind a short ride-hail hop to reach the palace or the train station.
クラトンとタマン・サリ周辺——旧市街の暮らし
最も現地らしい雰囲気を味わいたいなら、クラトン（王宮）とタマン・サリ（水の宮殿）を囲む旧市街、カウマンなどのエリアに拠点を置くのがおすすめです。ここは歴史の中心部に位置し、街のモスクやバティック工房、静かな住宅街が点在するエリア。王宮や水の宮殿へは徒歩圏内です。宿泊施設は大型ホテルよりも、ホームステイや小さなゲストハウスが中心。朝は観光地の喧騒ではなく、暮らしが息づく街のリズムとともに始まります。マリオボロ通りの混雑とは無縁の、風情と利便性を兼ね備えた立地です。旧市街の奥深くに溶け込みたい方、ホテルの設備よりもホームステイならではの個性を重視する方に最適。ただし、夕食の選択肢は旅行者向けエリアに比べて点在し、地元色が強いことを理解しておいてください。
カリウランと北斜面地域 — 涼やかで緑豊かなひとときを
North of the city the land rises toward Mount Merapi, and around the hill town of Kaliurang the air turns noticeably cooler and the pace slower. This is retreat territory — leafy resorts and guesthouses, forest walks, and the volcano close at hand for jeep tours and morning views. It's a lovely base for a night or two if you want to break up the city with somewhere restful, and it's the obvious choice if the volcano is high on your list. The catch is distance: you're a fair drive from the temples, the southern caves and the city's nightlife, so it works best as a deliberate quiet interlude rather than a base for a fast-moving, sight-packed trip.
东部环线公路及机场附近
Two more options suit specific plans. The eastern side of the city, around the ring road and the big shopping malls near the university districts, holds many of the modern chain and business hotels — a comfortable, well-serviced base that's also marginally closer to the Prambanan side of the region, though further from the old-town atmosphere. And if you have a very early flight or a very late arrival, remember that the international airport is well to the west in Kulon Progo, over an hour from the city; a night at an airport-area hotel out that way can be worth it purely to avoid a pre-dawn dash across the region. Neither is a first choice for a short sightseeing trip, but each solves a real problem.
